Meet the medical team

The Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital is led by four consultants working inside a tertiary general hospital. Tongchun Mao, MD, is responsible for the medical review of this site; the other three are named because a nasal decision genuinely involves them — complex and revision cases, skin assessment, and aftercare.

Tongchun Mao

Tongchun Mao (毛彤春)

Deputy Director & Head of Aesthetic Surgery · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending · Lead Physician of This Site

Aesthetic surgery · nasal surgery · the surgical decision

Dr. Tongchun Mao is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its aesthetic surgery service at Chongqing West District Hospital, and he is the physician responsible for this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, he has rooted his clinical practice for more than 20 years and personally performs over 700 operations a year.

He leads on this site for a specific reason. A decision guide is only honest if the person signing it also has to live with the consequence of a patient taking its advice, and that includes the advice to wait or to decline. Dr. Mao’s stated position is the one this site is written around: analyse the nose you have, change only what the analysis justifies, and accept that some patients should not be operated on at all.

The consultation is allowed to end in no

A surgeon who cannot describe the case in which he would refuse to operate has not finished assessing you. Ask directly what would make this operation the wrong choice for you, and listen to whether the answer is specific to your anatomy or just a reassurance.

Shaoliang Wang

Shaoliang Wang (王韶亮)

Director, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center · Vice Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine

Plastic surgery · complex cases · revision

Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, and previously served as Deputy Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University. On this site he is the second opinion a difficult nasal case is brought to.

His role in the decision is the one patients rarely ask for and most often need: whether a plan should proceed at all. Complex revision, correction of surgery done elsewhere, and the judgement to stop are his part of the team’s work.

Clinical focus

  • Revision and reconstruction after failed cosmetic nasal surgery
  • Complex wound repair and tertiary-hospital surgical support
  • Scar revision and comprehensive scar management
Ke He

Ke He (何锞)

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Skin & laser aesthetics · surgical aftercare

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service at Chongqing West District Hospital, with more than 20 years on the clinical front line.

Nasal surgery leaves a scar on skin that has to heal well for the result to look right. Her part of the decision is the one patients underweight: whether your skin quality, tendency to scar, and postoperative care will support the plan being proposed.

Clinical focus

  • Early scar prevention and repair after facial surgery
  • Skin quality and barrier preparation before an operation
  • Pigment and vascular conditions affecting facial healing
Yongbo Jia

Yongbo Jia (贾勇波)

Deputy Director & Head of Dermatology · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Dermatology · assessment and complication management

Dr. Yongbo Jia is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of dermatology at Chongqing West District Hospital, trained at the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

Some conditions that look like a surgical problem are not one. His part of the assessment is the dermatological one: skin disease, active inflammation, or a healing disorder that should be treated before anyone operates on the nose.

Clinical focus

  • Dermatological assessment before facial surgery
  • Management of skin disease that affects surgical healing
  • Postoperative skin complications and barrier repair

Questions about your own nose?

An assessment is an examination and a conversation, not a sales appointment. We will tell you what your anatomy allows, what it does not, and what we would advise if you decided not to operate at all.
